The Eritrean opposition political and civil organizations in Sweden leading 13 political organizations members and many other civil societies contact group has met the local politicians of the social democratic party on 26th June 2008 in the City of Stockholm. The group discussed and briefed the political, economic and social situation of the Eritrean people under the rule of the brutal regime in Eritrea. The main issues discussed were human rights abuses, democracy, peace and the rule of law in Eritrea. Under these issues were also taken the late relations of the Eritrean brutal dictator’s campaigns inside the social democratic party through its cells organized by the Eritrean embassy in Stockholm. The group exposed the misleading campaigns run by the Eritrean regime’s members to penetrate the social democratic party and lobby for the support of the authoritarianism in Eritrea. The social democratic party politicians who met the Eritrean opposition contact group ensured them that they will never cooperate with a regime that does not respect the fundamental rights of its citizens. The contact group has submitted a document on human rights abuses in Eritrea since independence. The social democratic party members who met the group were grateful and promised to meet them on Eritrea continuously. The meeting was constructive and instructive rendering illegitimacy to the campaigns of the Eritrean dictator’s supporters.
