What most of us are expecting from the next EDA conference in the capital of Ethiopia is whether it will be a successful or a failed one. But the reality remains beyond wait and see a kind, and that not because we have enough of well-build-anticipation for an expected out-come, neither we have a bad habit of spotting things wrongly, but because we trying here to point out if the Eritrean opposition able to accept a change with-in themselves, in another words this coming conference does not have the mandate or authority and even any sort of influences to change every single member Organization of the EDA in its on.

After-all the EDA as a consisted umbrella, it must reflects what it does consist of, and it will not act as a magic tools to turn its members organization into superb actors rather than what they are.

Unless those organizations recognize and relies their weakness and review themselves in-term of the way they were and are still acting, they would not play or act in any new role which can be different from the previous nine years if not over the last seventeen years.

The missing point in our political opposition trends is a lack of evaluation culture and complete absent of renewal process within the structural mechanism, program development and ahead thinking strategy plans.

Counting out regarding diplomacy and political gains, a simple question one could ask is, what sort of strategically success marks did our opposition groups achieved since their existence..!? … Nothing and nothing, but more birth of new political groups and parties, all in the name of Eritrean oppositions, adding up more weakness to those already accumulated.

If someone would check, what ideological differences do most of us in the opposition platform must have from the rest…!?....Again a full answer would be nothing at all, except the multi-front title, and here we go another front and another party in the name of national, people and democracy ect…,

In brief words, our expectation in such called conference and in all cases must be a less hope of a long waited winning results and that because as political opposition we are still playing the same tone with the same piece of note and instruments, in more definition same actors, same play and same theater for the last seventeen years (if not for the last thirty years).

Our call and claim for a better change in Eritrea, in that case would only happen if we as opposition applied that changes within our political organization first, then we have to find it in The Government of PFDJ by bridging the gap between us and the people of Eritrea inside the country with support of those justices and peace loving-one in Diaspora.

Conferences usually play the role of evaluation in order to add more positive steps forwards to those already achieved and avoiding the negative once, but not repeating the same mistakes again and again.

To take this coming conference as shifting point and a corner stone to build on our new fresh strategy projects and ahead thinking for the next generation in Eritrea, and to start a new modern Culture of politics for a workable policy and a productive nation we should get rid of the old narrow minded fashion game of politics we are using through our failed history of existence inside independent Eritrea.

Replacing this old narrow minded thinking we need to address openly the real reasons behind our weakness as political opposition trends.

For the sake of that change within our opposition’s camp, let us provoke some area of our concern issues as examples:

·        Lack of trust and transparency; do we trust each other in terms of the common national principles that we share and in what we called minimum program points?

·        Number of political organizations; do we really need all these numbers of the so named opposition forces with fronts, ethnicities, parties and religion titles trends!?

·        Leadership terms; why do we have same leaders same names and no achievements or improvement to take us forward for the last16years (some of them for the last 30years)!?

·        Elite, intellectuals and National figures; can we point out if we have any kind of sufficient, large and actively participate Eritrean elite to play dynamics reliable role in order to rescue the people of Eritrea out of  the ruthless and miserable life they are going through!?

·        Lack of youth participation and new generation in Eritrean politics; why is it!?

·        Common understanding of Eritrean identity; Are we sharing same understanding and feeling of belonging to one Eritrean identity!?

Now I believe that, answering or debating the above matters, will put us closer to expectations that we can share as out come for Addis Ababa conference, other wise you will be finding us going back to those old days and blaming The Dictator as usual.
